Where the Wild Gals Are

map_smallBeing a mom means this: the majority of your life will take place in a car. Where the Wild Gals Are is a snapshot of the many places we visit (and try not to get kicked out of) to provide ideas on how, when, where and what to explore with your kids. I believe when you expose children to new and different things it makes their dreams bigger and brighter. Who knows what a trip with mom may inspire!

Celebrating Civil Rights – MLK Day with Muhammad Ali

There was no better way to celebrate MLK Day than with greatest of all time. Spending the day at the Muhammad Ali Center was a great opportunity to explore one of the coolest and most interesting places in Louisville. The museum allowed the girls to explore the life and accomplishments of Muhammad Ali, as well as, the various struggles he faced as an African American and Muslim in America during an era of segregation. Since they already studied about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his accomplishments, they were more than excited to learn about Muhammad Ali and his role in the Civil Rights Movement. Every inch of this facility was interesting and engaging; it was amazing to see people of all walks of life celebrating Dr. King and the man that could float like a butterfly and sting like a bee (Koryn informed me that he got that from a song on the radio; umm no, the other way around). If you ever get the opportunity, it’s a must see and if you have already experienced this great place, experience it again with a friend. Maybe you all will behave better than we did!
